To all the BART Protesters,

Why don't you guys find something more important for humanity to do with your time, such as:

  • Die
  • Protest Iran
  • Save a whale
  • or, Get a job...

And join us ranks of US workers who just want to get home to see our families.

- Pissed off Bay Area Commuter

Endorse this letter if you are as mad as I am!

I believe in you getting the hell out of my way so I can go home.

while I appreciate the frustration experienced by BART commuters, I cannot support this letter. Advocating that the protestors die is wrong. Advocating violoence is not the way to go.

Opposed.

Just keep the train on time no matter where it goes?

Authorities aren't in the business of keeping their own power in check; that requires real citizens who speak up when a police officer goes for a kill shot because a mentally ill man is annoying him. If you let the police behave this way without opposition, you're letting society go a direction that could shock you someday.

It's craven and cowardly to insult people who are doing their job of opposing abuse of power. They're the real citizens of a free society. If you had stones you'd be with them.

How does interrupting the evening commute just average people trying to go home have ANYTHING to do with your beef with the bart police?

Why protest and hurt bystanders that just want to get home, vs going to the BART Police HQ at Lake Merritt that is right off of the station and has a nice courtyard to group and not cause afternoon commuters that just want to go home - go home.

There have been three BART police shooting fatalities: 1st I recall was in the 80's, cannot google victim's name. Then Oscar Grant & Charles Hill. BART disruption is seriously a difficulty...but imagine if one of your kids, for whom you are working hard to bring a good future, was Oscar Grant ten yrs from now. Would you want to keep the trains on time? How will we ever slow down and take notice?
BART police training is inadequate. It takes more time and training to be a licensed cosmetologist...and they get scissors, not guns!

I'm strongly opposed to the utter failures that sit on the BART board (including the idiot, Linton Johnson) and the violence that BART police seems to think it A-OK.

I'm also strongly opposed to making the commute of people who had nothing to do with any of this worse than it is. Don't disrupt the work-a-day people who pay taxes!

The protests need to move to BART HQ. Do the disruption there!!

When the BART board of directors take it upon themselves to endorse the violation of constitutional, federal, and state law, there's something to be said for the average man paying attention to the fact that these violations are not only extant, but not even being addressed by the law.

"I oppose the violence of this letter. Telling these protesters to "die" is completely unacceptable. These protesters also have jobs, families, and who knows, may very well save whales as well. You are upset that your commute was disrupted - which I understand - mine was too. But telling people to die, or that they are low lives for their activism something that upsets me more. And the truth is that they got your attention - which is exacltly what a protest is designed to do."
